birthday presants

a couple of weeks ago i posted a question about a guy i work with (he was scribbling on my crosswords.) well now we're approching his birthday i brought him a presant before the whole thing blew up now i'm wondering do i give him the presant that i brought him or keep it it till next year?

I agree. Give him the pressie. Its far better to smooth things over now than let this all get out of hand and snowball into a big feud! Give him the pressie and even if he snubs it, at least you know you tried. :o)

sorry recap.we we're really friendly and flirty then he played a trick on me and i really over reacted after i appologised he went strange and started to ignore me and then he started being childish .

I'd say wait and see... you don't have to give it until the day before. I'm still a bit suspicious of someone who acts that childishly myself, but you'll be better able to judge if he's behaving like more of an adult. Also I wouldn't give an expensive present with things still up in the air, it might look too pushy, but something inexpensive and thoughtful would be better.

show him you can rise above his childishness and be adult about it. We all fall out and act odd sometimes.....

i'd say give it. he will probably feel embarrassed that he has behaved in such a childish way (one to you!) and it will nip this situation in the bud. I couldn't bear to work in such an atmosphere. You spend too many hours at work for there to be bad feeling. You will come out on top with this simple gesture. Good luck, you never know, he may bring you a cream cake :-)
