Perhaps she would like to call a referendum ! She has been faffing about for months and I seriously suggest that if she can't pull her finger out and get on with it, she should hand over responsibility to someone who can !

mrs may should be sacked for her handling of this issue,,,,,,,,,,,,,, who in their right mind would take on this position ? only solution is someone who is not involved/aware of what '' the british establishment'' is. get a no nonsense expert from outwith Britain who is not afraid of naming names .

If she spent as much time getting this Enquiry off the ground as she spends choosing which shoes to wear every day, the Enquiry would be well under way by now. Get on with it woman !
You wouldn't have dared talk to Barbara Castle like that.
Doesn't matter who's picked. Someone will object.
Haven't you got the time to help out, mikey?
After all you seem to spend more time on it than most.
I will do it for £30.000 for a 3 day week, I can confirm that I have not visited or had meals with any MPs, senior police officers, judges or any other not very nice people.

Blackadder...you may be right but Castle wasn't Home Secretary.

Up until recently I have held Mrs May in reasonably high respect, mainly for facing up the Police but I am fed up seeing this woman in the media every few days, continually faffing about. dave should remove her responsibility for this Enquiry and take it on himself.

If something isn't done soon, it will drag into next year and then we will have the Election. This has all the appearance of being sabotaged, by being kicked into the long grass......again.
The enquiry is under way though.....so it doesn't really matter about the chair for the moment.
.

odd failure in political insight
considering the steady hand she has shown in other things

perhaps Mrs May was too close to the establishment figures who wanted a nice little cover up
A senior high court judge from the Dublin bench would fit the bill. Or a similar figure from an 'Old Commonwealth' country.
It seems just like more stalling tactics. I wonder if this enquiry will EVER take place. Is she hoping that if she keeps stalling , that we'll all just miraculously forget about it? What about the victims? They can NEVER forget!

Ah the true feelings coming out, we haven't heard ladies spoken to like that in decades, how sexist.
It is a definite own goal, AOG.

Kind of loses credibility after a remark like that doesn't it?
preconceived opinion that is not based on reason or actual experience.

synonyms: preconceived idea, preconception, preconceived notion; prejudgement

"male prejudices about women"

My OH has just wandered into the Study with a Coffee for me which is nice.
(To give her some Credibility, 60 something as am I, well Educated, and a NHS Healthcare Professional for 30 years+)
I showed her Mikeys post from 1814 (Fri). she expressed disbelief that anyone still thought that way, let alone put it in writing and suggested they must be a relic left over from the 60's, fair to say she was not impressed!
