Anagram Indicators

I'm attempting a clue writing competition. Any thoughts on using "taxed" as an anagram indicator please?

can't say as I like it at all, but I am old fashioned and I know some strange indicators are used these days. I might just see taxed as meaning shrunk (eg if you removed L, S or D from a word) but not to mean "rearranged".

Thanks. It would fit nicely into my clue, but I can't remember seeing it used and probably not a good idea then.

you could try posting this under Crosswords and see if regular solvers take a more lenient view!
