mum is 76, doctors have told us she will go onto the Rivaroxaban medication for her clots. She is difficult to obtain blood from. Is this the same as warfarin, or better or worse? Which would you think is the best out of both.

it works differently - it's a factor x (10) antagonist, whereas warfarin is a vitamin k antagonist.
you can get better control with warfarin i think, but that's not the only thing to be considered. quality of life is also important, and if it prevents her having so many blood tests, it might be a better way to go for her.
If someone offered me a swap to riva, i'd take it.
I agree with bednobs.
woohoo, i'll mark this day in my calendar

I take rivaroxaban. I couldn't be doing with the frequent blood tests that go with warfarin. I'm sure your Mum will do well on it.
