Looking for advice in the best way to maintain a Poinsettia.

No expert, and unsure what you are hoping for, but it was my understanding they get it to colour it's leaves by keeping it in the dark, so one expects to to get less colourful when you put it in a normal position.
In my experience with plants you need to move them around until you find a spot it's happy with. Enough light, heat, no draughts, that sort of thing. Not bought a plant for a while, but I do recall the last ones I had didn't thrive where I wanted to put a plant, only where I wasn't keen on one standing. Contrary things.

Poinsettias are a small tropical shrub....they were growing to 6 foot tall as roadside weeds when i went to Barbados.
To survive the festive period, they need a bright spot, out of direct sun, warmth, a bit of humidity and they need to just dry out between waterings.
If you plan to keep them for next year, that's a different story and will require quite a bit of skill and dedication....not impossible but difficult.
