FrogNog...you are right about the slippers. I see women walking around in Tescos in pyjamas very often these day.

I am also thinking tonight of those rescue workers that spent all day looking for the baby and then finding him....I hope they have access to some help and counselling.

Sorry...her.
// I am also thinking tonight of those rescue workers that spent all day looking for the baby and then finding (her) //

As I stated earlier in this thread, the mother and the baby were found at the same time. They did not spend all day looking for the baby. The announcement that the baby was also dead was delayed while identification took place probably from a blood sample. The mother could be instantly indentified but the infant couldn't, hence the delay.
This may be controversial, but from the last two experiences I have had in hospital you cannot exit the ward without passing the nursing station. Quite often I noticed that the nurses were too huddled over their computer screens to notice what was going on around them.
Gromit where did you hear or see that they were fond at the same time? The DM reports that "The body of Charlotte Bevan, 30, was found in the Avon Gorge in Bristol last night. Her newborn Zaani Tiana Bevan Malbrouck was discovered earlier today a short distance away."
This is an awful story. You can of course walk straight out of a maternity ward with your baby. It isn't a prison. They don't usually even use hospital wristbands. I'm not sure why nobody noticed the mother's state of mind. She was clearly already ill and on day 4 when the milk comes in and hormones are all over the place, most people are tearful on that day- and obviously it was enough to tip her over the edge. Very sad. RIP to them both xx
pixie,,, how do you know she was'' clearly ill'' on 4th post natal day ?
I dont understand why people are so amazed that she was able to walk out, under what law were they going to stop her, I have visited hospitals many times, including maternity wards, of course people can walk out and the staff would need very good reason to prevent them from doing so, did anybody suspect she was going to commit suicide?
Groot where did you hear that? I was following on a local news feed here in Bristol. They most definitely were not found together.
Yes I'm still wondering where Gromit got that info from chelle as you can see in my 01.46 post.
Sorry ladybirder, had missed that. As a local this news has had a huge effect on people here so was probably a little selfish in my reaction.
Would have been interesting to get grommets reply though.
