Affray/gbh
I was arrested last night for affray. I punched two people but one fell and split his head open. I've been told the charge may change to gbh because the size of the wound and im also caught on camra punching him for the second time whilst he was on the floor. On the camra this all looks unprovoked.. I've only ever been arrested before for drink driving and two accounts of drunk and disorderly... Any idea what punishment im looking to get? Thanks

There will be a 'duty solicitor' available by asking at the station when you go, but it is better to have one arranged in advance.
You may be charged with s18 but the police drop the charge to S20 in return for a guilty plea. The advantage of this is you will be virtually certain to get a non custodial sentence.
There is an automatic 1/3rd reduction in sentence for an early guilty plea, this applies to non custodial sentences as well.
But you need a solicitor to try to arrange this 'plea bargain' if it is offered.
