It seems the new Leader of Scottish Labour is intent on mugging the English. What is it about Socialists that hate the thought that anyone has done ok?

sorry gromit, rash reply !!!!!!!!!
Sturgeon will be leader of the SNP in the Scottish Parliament and First Minister.

Salmond will be leader of the SNP in the Westminster Parliament and Deputy Prime Minister.
I'm slightly confused by the angst over this. The way it seems to be portrayed is almost as if Scotland gets all of the Mansion tax money and spends it for its own needs. But surely they just get their (possibly slightly inflated, under the Barnett formula) share of that tax and then have the right to spend it as they choose. I can't really see the problem with that. The English will have the rest of the money raised from the mansion tax and can spend it as the parliament there chooses (and ditto Wales).

If the debate is about whether we should have a mansion tax at all, then fine -- I can't say I entirely like it myself, especially in an era of inflated house prices -- but roping Scotland into this seems a bit of a stretch.

....and if he fails to get elected?

Scotland was in it from the start. It's what Jim Murphy's (Scottish Labour) is saying Labour will do for Scotland - ie take money off 'rich' English southerners and use the money to create jobs in Scotland.

As I said, it's a soundbite designed to appeal to would be SNP voters. He's even thrown in a reference to Scottish oil for good measure.

It will be another SNP MP.
