Essay Writing - Please Help!
12 Answers
I am in final year of foundation degree in counselling and desperately need help writing my essay.
When I say help I mean with structure, grammar - writing it in an analytical way. The content I'm fine with I just don't explain things that well!
Are there any recommended people that I could email with support? Or get them to help with corrections???

How about posting a fairly short paragraph here and asking for corrections/suggestions and using that as a basis for the rest of the essay??
Another approach is to read it out loud to yourself. Where a phrase or sentence sounds wrong or clumsy, it probably is, and keep repeating/changing it till it sounds 'right'. Take your time, take a deep breath and you'll get there, and don't forget the spellcheck on Word just doesn't correct spelling but also grammar. If you don't have Word, load your essay onto a memory stick and go to your local library. You'll probably have to pay to use one of their computers, but it will be worth it.

Jenny has a good answer, and is what I would do.
You could also use this: http:// www.hem ingwaya pp.com/
It highlights long or complex sentences which could be made more concise. It also has a rough way of detecting the passive voice.
This shouldn't be your only tool however.
Can you get another human being to read it once you think you're done?
