Can you put a password on a folder on your desktop (windows vista)?

Thanks hc, followed instructions given but when I click 'file' it doesnt give me a password option.
As far as I'm aware the last version of Windows to have individual password protected folders was Windows XP. After that each user of the pc was assumed to have their own account to log in to with their own password.

To protect a folder within a users account you will probably have to use 3rd party software, please read the following
