Rugby Camerawork

Anybody else find that their enjoyment of rugby on TV is totally spoiled by the constant close-ups and reverse-angle shots? Every time a player is passed the ball, the camera zooms in for a close-up, then out again, in again, with a needless reverse-angle often thrown in just to confuse things further. There is no chance to see where the runners are off the ball, and when a player with the ball is running towards the try line, the director cuts to the camera behind the line, to show the player running towards it. The French director of the France v Scotland game last week was the worst ever - it was almost impossible to work out what was happening!

they run around with the ball alot as far as I can see

I enjoy what they serve up along with a crisp white....
what does stand out from previously is the serious way they take concussion

I agree entirely brainiac, the BBC are making a complete balls-up of the coverage

The camera work (or to be more precise, the editing/production) has been shockingly bad.

They virtually missed one of the Welsh penalty kicks by faffing around with 'reaction' shots & the size of the score display in the top left corner is just stupid - you could hide the entire scrum behind it.

The one-eyed commentators don't help, either ...
