Lemon Thyme

I have been given a lemon thyme plant,i have little garden space so a pot would be the way for me will it grow okay in one also when should i put it outside and what type of soil should i put it in ?

I would harden the plant off gradually by putting it outside in a sunny spot during the day and bringing it inside, overnight until any danger of frost has gone.

A peaty, sandy compost mix should do, with some grit in the bottom of the pot for good drainage.
