Hey there!


Whats your top gym tip or tips? I've just started back at the gym and thought i'd see if anyone has any good advice! My goals are to tone up generally but especially arms, bum and tum!

Hi Annie,


Keep changing your Cardio Vascular and weight training, say every 6 weeks. This way you will not become bored with the same old routine. Try to take part in any classes in the gym. Do spinning classes, running machine, rowing etc... then light weights on alternate days. Try to meet as many people in the gym as you can. All this will make you want to go to the gym and enjoy it. Listen to your body and it will tell you when you've done too much or too little. But main thing is learn enjoy it.

Why not ask one of the gym instructors to set you a programme to follow ??
If you want to really sculplt your muscles then follow these rules.

First build the raw muscles- weight training
Tone the muscles- running with weight on legs and sit ups press ups etc
Finally stretch the muscles to gibe you both strength and flexibilty
I personally follow the mantra of one H J Simpson - No pain, no pain.
I do the majority of my cardio workout on the cross trainer and the inches have dropped of my bum, but it keeps your arms going too so is good for this area.
