I've just noticed the text on my start up screen and all the icons on my desk top seem to have shrunk. No idea how it happened- please can anyone advise me on how to get them back to normal?!
I'm not sure if this is Windows-version dependent, but if you right-click a blank area of the desktop, then in the little box that appears hover on "View" & choose from "Large", "Medium" or "Small" icons, that should work. HTH
Assuming that you're using some form of Windows . . .
Either:
(a) your screen resolution has been increased
; or
(b) the setings relating to sizes of text and icons have changed.
Either way the first step to getting back to what you're used to is to right-click on your desktop. What you'll see offered to you at that stage depends upon which version of Windows you're using but you're looking for 'Properties', Personalise' or something similar. Click on that and then look for something like 'Display settings'. Once you're there you should hopefully be able to find the options to enlarge your icons or to reduce your screen resolution.
If you're still stuck, please post again telling us which version of Windows you're using. Then we'll be able to give you exact instructions.
To lower your screen resolution (which makes everything look bigger) start as per that link but select 'Settings' (instead of 'Appearance') and adjust the slider before clicking 'Apply'. (Don't worry when your screen goes blank for a few seconds; that's meant to happen!).
