Why Syria?

There have been several items in the news recently about people, including youngsters, trying to get to Syria via Turkey. What is it about Syria that attracts them?

Probably the war. And probably not the many historic sites now largely destroyed by it

With all the british girls running over there offering themselves to every tom, Dick and Harry its probably a bit like Bangkok with a bit more danger to add to the adrenaline for these young adventure seekers.

Syria is where 'Islamic State' has its base. To some it is a cause worth fighting for, they are going to join the cause.
