Looks like destroy get the troy bit but not much more. I was thinking it was an anagram of a day Rome - o but after extensive searching I think not.

(I)des - means 'day' (the ides of March for example) _ Troy.

... That could have been clearer - Ides means 'day' and you take off the i' (not starting), so becomes 'des'.
