No...and that's why the police officer has been charged with murder!!

What did he drop next to the body?
Looked like a gun.

I wonder what we didn't see, why did he get into a confrontation with the Officer, it was only a broken brake light after all? not a Capital Offence even in The States as far as I know.
i think lots of them run for it for fear of getting a beating ...
Or maybe he had outstanding fines or a warrant for his arrest.
or he saw the gun and decided he didn't want his lights broken and shot out
.

thank God for the video - very sensibly put on the internet before handing into the police....

"WHY AREN'T THERE MORE? IT SHOWS HOW FORBEARING THEY ALL ARE THERE".

Why does my name have to be attached to what the poster presumably happens to think himself?

Mobile phones and the like, with the ability to record moving images, are going to force some changes in police procedures.
The 'shooters' story, in the article published before the existence of the images was known, doesn't hold water and clearly varies from what we can see with our own eyes.
The officer will be found not guilty - dont they usually ?
should that be 'aren't they usually '
It depends on what colour he is.
Of murder maybe (since we dont have the full picutre), but it is clearly manslaughter.

He shot him 8 times. I wonder what he'd have done if he'd intended to kill him.
Over here no.

But we are looking at a country where you can shoot someone for knocking on your door in the early hours so anything is possible.
And here is how the Police statement reported it before the video showed up:

Unsurprisingly the R4 midnight news left out the 'Police statement' from its coverage.
