Forest Flame Tops Drooping

Some of the new growth has turned a tan colour and is drooping. Any ideas?

It's been a dry month.

Four possibilities strike me. frost, pot/ground waterlogged, pot/ground too dry, pest at the root.

Of those 4 I'd guess it's more likely to have been too dry. But having said that we've just had about 18 hours continual rain.

There are a few different plants that share the name 'Forest flame' as its variety, Pieris seems the most well known, so I'll assume thats the shrub that you have there.
Among its requirements are shelter from cold winds, acidic soil conditions and probable best in a semi shaded position.
The leaves change colour throughout the season from pink to white and mature to green.
I don't like the sound of it "drooping" to much though but hopefully its a tempory set-back and will improve as the weather improves, so lets hope the recent rain does the trick!

The drooping tips you mention. Are they dry and shriveled or still quite fleshy looking ?

Dry and shriveled. I noticed the same thing on a plant growing in a garden a few streets away.

Should I cut the frosted bits off?

no, just leave it for now. once it has new shoots come back then you can trim off the brown bits
