they could for example apply without notice ( ex parte ) to a Judge in chambers for an order ( mandamus ) ordering the returning officer to give the applicant a vote
This was done twenty years ago or so - clearly the unregistered voter was a junior barrister and someone ( ? pupil master ) commented - this was more of an exercise for the applicant ( claimant/plaintiff ) than a real way of getting a vote
Wasnt it the last election where they locked out 25 waiting at 10 pm to vote and the police were called ? No one can vote after 10 pm yeah but if you had organised yourselves better we could have and intended tovote before ... I cant recollect what happened
