Planter / Herb Garden

bought a planter today for wifey, i got her some chilli / pepper/tomato plants and some mint and chives, it is in an area of the garden where it will catch the sun in morning untill around 2pm . is this ok ?

also does wifey need to water this planter, its filled tightly with compost .

an other fast growing herbs good for outside planters this time of year ? like garlic, spring onions or coriander or basil ?

i have not the first idea about this kind of stuff. THNKS

How big is the planter diesel? Don't put the mint in it!

Coriander is difficult to growl as it is quick to bolt.

Of course the planters need to be watered, stick your finger in an inch if the compost is dry water them.

I agree with mazie...keep the mint in a pot by itself - otherwise, it will over-run everything else.
I have parsley and (my favourite) tarragon outside. Basil is better indoors in a sunny window because greenfly love it.

Most herbs do better in full sun and the more they get, the better the taste.
One herb that you can't really go wrong with is chives, they're perenials, so you can cut them to flavor salads and sarnies and they'll come back. I've had some in 8inch terracotta pots for donkeys years!
