Labrador Toys

Anyone know of any dog toys suitable for a labrador. He just chews em up then i have to try and stop him eating the plastic. The last one i bought said it was 'virtually indestructable' however bruno (my dog) managed to bite half off in no more than 5 minutes! Should i just give him large bones which is ok if he eats them?

Have you tried a Kong? Or a toy called a Cyberjack?

Failing that, have you tried a brick?

I have 2 staffies and like you lab destroys every toy known to man apart from Kong toys. Kong have also expanded into doing other shaped chews covered in tennis ball material and tennis balls and they haven't yet managed to bite through them and they've had them a good few months.

I give both of them rawhide bones too but stick to the pure white raw hide as that seems to be much more durable and needs a lot of chewing before they get a bite of it. Knotted bones are better than pressed bones too. As Staffies have amazingly strong jaws they tend to chomp through and eat it before it's chewed properly so I have to becareful and get the right bones so they don't choke on pieces they haven't chewed properly

My 2 had some fun with a coconut - garden only tho as is messy when they finally crack it.

Also Indestructaball, don't know if you can still get them as we've had ours about 5 years (that's a good recommendation)!

I work in a dog creche where we have this problem daily. All the toys that promise to be indestructable usually aren't. Having tried almost every toy, kongs, nylabones and the like the only thing they cant chew is a boomer ball. Its a big plastic ball, too big to swallow and in most cases to big to fit in the mouth. Other than that nylabones take a while to nibble away at. I give my dogs roasted bones to chew and a cheap squeaky toy to destroy (under supervision) if they desire!
