Unsolicited Charity Mail

I give regularly to a couple of charities and am constantly bombarded by letters from other sources. Can I cross out my address and put return to sender hoping they will get the message.

I've tried that (cross out address and put return to sender). It didn't work. Such organisations are very thick-skinned and persistent. I don't, unfortunately, know what else you can do.

They normally include an envelope for you to reply, I put all their literature inside it and post back to them without stamp, I rarely hear from them again.
I support the RNLI and British Legion by DD, that's enough!

I return them all , unopened as "unsolicited mail".

Would signing up to the mail preference service stop these?
