Threat Of Violence At Work

Today my boss threatened me with physical violence because I hadn't been checking the oil of the company van.
His concern was if the engine seized, then he told me that if it did "I will fire you and I will also thump you".
I thought it was just said out of anger and as a manner of speaking but he backed it up by admitting that he had done it to a former employee.
Advice gratefully received.
The company is quite close-knit (only four active employees) and this took place in my boss's house with no witnesses.

Borrow shoota's revolver, and the next time he threatens you, respond back to him, as you're walking away, in quite an explosive manner:)
Drain the oil, deplete the water & put in wrong gas. Drive it a long way till it blows & dump the van. Let bossy boots pick up the pieces, with lots of exes & tell him you dont wanna work for a nonce.
I think I'd be looking for another job!
Never had a boss in my life, as self employed, but if I had yours then I'll just tell him "You better be accurate and make it count, mate"

Check the oil, do your job outstandingly and the prat cant complain, can he?
