I am watching this yet again on ITV3+to me its John Thaw at his best and when in the last scene William calls him Dad for the first time, I shall be there bawling as usual ! anyone one else like this tv drama ?
I have been watching Kavanagh QC on my NOW TV thingy and have hugely enjoyed them. Thaw was a much better actor than any gave him credit for, in my humble opinion.
Mikkey it was on today on ITV3at 11am, then on ITV3+1, I only found it by flicking through the channels ! maybe it is available ITV player. Well worth a watch, it keeps cropping up every now & then.
I loved it too Dee. The part that made me cry the most was when 'Mr Tom' found William and the dead baby locked and bound in that cupboard under the stairs. Heartbreaking. We lost a fabulous actor when John Thaw died.
It is the film by which I shall always remember John Thaw. By far the best he ever made. This and 'The Railway Children' (proper version, steam clearing and 'Daddy! My Daddy!') unfailingly make me cry. Got wet eyes now!
I have several films that make me cry i.e Mr Tom as said, Showboat when they throw Ava Gardner off the Showboat because of her skin colour, and Shawshank Redemption when Morgan Freeman makes it to the rendevous to name a few.
