For Comp Experts On Here. Win7 Updates Failure

got little help the first time i posted this.
seems some hundreds of win7 users are having update failures , my laptop has no probs but my friends pc win7 has had this for weeks both on auto updates, ive tried dozens of remedies from web sites including Microsoft but non work. if you google "error 800700C1" you see the problem. has anybody had this and solved it ? this link below was no help either he did not have this kb ***** on his comp

well i ran fix it,said no probs found, went to updates same ones were there again to download,clicked download red message came up and same error 800700C1.downloaded them all in standalone installer .they start install but then says udates were not installed,have given up (not like me) its running ok and has the usual protection so leaving it,it did down load (on standalone) the microsoft malicious install, it ran no probs found,thank for your help anyway
