John Noakes On Pointless Celebs

Just saw John Noakes on Pointless Celebs, I found it quite sad, he didn't appear to know what he was doing or even what day of the week it was.

Peter Purviss had to keep pulling him back in position. while John gazed vacantly around him.
He looked a shadow of his former self, quite upset me seeing him like that.

Yes very sad.I think I read somewhere that he has been showing signs of dementia.

he is 79 so perhaps if he seems a bit vague you can understand..

I also thought John Noakes was appearing vague. It is sad when old age catches up with people especially when most remember him as the stuntman of Bue Peter. Whilst watching this program I did think about the life threatening stunts he did on Blue Peter in the 70's. the program's would nt be made now due to H&S

Shep died in 1987. I remember John Noakes breaking into tears on national TV when he announced the death of his beloved canine companion on some programme or other (Wogan?).

Apparently Anne Robinson caused a similar response during the filming od The Weakest Link in 2008...

He's now gone missing from his home in Majorca. Apparently he has Alzheimers and the police are out looking for him.
