was there nobody else on the beach who could see what was happening to the poor kid or were they all asleep.
I wasn't going to be the first person who brought up the subject of the McCanns, but you would have thought that parents would be extra careful these days, and even moderately careful isn't a phrase that comes to mind when describing this couple.

//Sounds more like a freak accident than neglect.
Yeah, ok. //

You don't think it was an accident? What are you insinuating, that the family launched the child deliberately? Why would they do that?

It was neglect.

Neglect: 'fail to care for properly'

Only a fool would think otherwise...Do you really think they cared for the baby properly?

The inflatable was high-viz yellow, that's why the parents bought it. They sound pretty safety conscious to me.
Question Author
You know the parents then?
Or maybe you're just spouting crap...actually forget that, no idea why I even asked.
The fact that the baby was plonked in it and put in the sea does not indicate to me that the parents were safety conscious.

Totally irresponsible, in my opinion.
You should come down to N Devon (Woolacombe, Saunton, Croyde) etc and see how many people come a cropper on lilos that were swept out to sea during the holiday season. These things happen.
Not usually to babies though. Don't parents watch babies and toddlers every second on the beach?
No
sensible baby, on her way to Syria to be a child-bride.....
No.
Most of you behave in the matter you were taught to.

These things happen my asp. That is why it as attracted international interest...because these things rarely happen.
