Getting Message On Samsung Galaxy 'message Memory Full'

I have a Samsung Galaxy 'y' Young GT-55363, purchased in 2012 and operating on o2.

To be honest, I make about 3 calls a week and maybe half a dozen texts. I don't use any apps, don't use emails, and have about 100 photos stored on it.

This morning, not for the first time, I have the following message on my screen:

'Memory full. Internal phone storage is nearly full. Delete/Uninstall some application or data and try again'.

Now this is after I've already deleted all my speech records and text messages. The apps I have were pre-installed, I've not added any. I'm an absolute novice when it comes to smartphones, and I've no idea what I'm doing wrong to get these messages. Can anyone help? Thank-you.

There is probably very little memory on this phone, and the software on your phone (Android and the apps) probably takes up a lot of it.

I think you should copy your photos somewhere else, on to a computer maybe, then delete them from your phone.

You could add a small memory card to the phone, to give yourself more space to hold the photos. See the book that came with it to see more about adding a memory card.
