48 Hours In Dublin
Where to drink, what to do?
Answers
I'd keep away from Temple bar, Dublin's a big place, TB is only one area and a kip at that in my opinion. Over priced and over rated. It's difficult answer such a question when one doesn't know are you travelling alone/in a group/celebrating stag or hen night or looking for something more relaxed and your age group

You've got to have a boxty!

That place is very popular with ABers. It's in Temple Bar which, as EdmundD, suggests, is at the heart of Dublin's eating & drinking scene:

The Guinness Storehouse is, by its nature, a bit 'touristy' but it's still worth a visit (even if only for the fantastic view from the Gravity Bar):

I'm not normally a fan of the open-top bus tours that every tourist city seems to have. (I usually prefer to explore on my own). However Dublin's attractions are quite well spread out and I'd recommend using the hop-on/hop-off buses:

There's lots more on the city's official tourism website:

I agree with everything Buenchico said. We did the bus tour and got off and did the Guinness tour, then back on bus and did Kilmainham Gaol, then back on bus to finish tour. Boxty is a must. I would book before you go any restaurants as it seems like everyone in Dublin eats out at a weekend, first time we went we struggled to get somewhere to eat. Temple bar is full of hen/stag parties but there are some great bars. The Arlington on the other side of the river do a River Dance type show. Grafton Street is the main shopping area and not too far from Temple Bar area.
