When I had my last child I asked for drugs. The midwife examined me and said 'too late' I sobbed :-( I swore I'd never forget the pain.... Fingers crossed for the A levellers. The GCSE results don't come in for a week or so. My little man just said to me 'I think you might be disappointed with my results' I won't be :-)
the body doesn't remember pain. The mind does, but just remembers that it was there, not what it feels like. A nurse gave me some eye drops yesterday and said "You'll have forgotten how they sting", and she was right.
If your child has the ability but doesn't work hard enough and the results are disappointing.........then i as a parent would say so and would need a serious talk.
If your child hasn't the ability but has worked hard, whatever the results, one should not be disappointed.
Some parents have bright children and some parents have pretty thick children......whatever the parents think.
The important phrase is "hard work".....if they have achieved that, then one can do no more.
Thing 1 appears to be stupid, so stupid that the school started assessing her to try to work out what to do with her. Everyone was amazed that she is actually horribly clever - she just can't apply it to school work.
