I’ve dealt with your first link; the second also relates to illegal immigrants who have no right to be here. People who say “It’s only a building” fail to recognise the significance of the destruction of history. Ladybirder mentioned Malala Yousefzai, the girl shot in the head by the Taliban for wanting an education, and this is all part and parcel of the same archaic mentality. Given the opportunity, radical Islam would eradicate all trace of every other civilisation and anything else it deems unIslamic, including education for women. We need to look further.

If ISIS are allowed to continue with their trail of destruction there would eventually be no other identity but their own. They will bulldoze sites and have a blank canvas to redesign the landscape.
Boko Haram have sent a few hundred fighters to help ISIS in Libya and given free reign would enter Europe through Italy.
Of course people matter but cultural identity is no less important.
