Definitely ... if you choose the younger thinner stalks you will find them sweeter than the older thicker stalks.
The answer lies in not letting them go and taking the younger stems on a regular basis .. just chop them and freeze them dry, in zip lock bags.
It tastes just as good a few months later ... so I am told.
I hate the stuff.

I am buying this for my son and he asked the daft question. It made me stop and think about which sort to buy, so I am supposing that any kind will be all right. Anyway, he will get what he is given, and think himself lucky he is getting it for nothing, so there! Thanks a lot for your prompt answer to my question, Ann and alavahalf.
I grew some a few years ago, after someone gave me some crowns.
The stalks had very thin but sweet and if I recall, they were called 'champagne' rhubarb.
The two sweetest varieties of Rhubarb are Raspberry Red, and Champagne.
