Before a ball was kicked in anger, i put a crisp £20 on Advocaat being the first managerial casualty during the Prem league season @ 8/1. For the last few weeks i've been praying to Lady Luck that the Dutchman walked before the Ulsterman was pushed. All that praying on bended knee worked - just, PHEW! Talk about close, that must be the footballing equivalent of a photo-finish:-)

Big Fat Sam to go into Sunderland - god help them with the old dinosaur, he'll probably keep them up but he'll alienate the punters just like he did at West Ham, Blackburn, Newcastle and every other club he's visited!

The International break is the time the club hierarchies have a reassessment of their position and some press the panic button - Advokaat and Rodgers already gone - Tim Sherwood, Steve McLaren and even Jose Mourinho coming under pressure - watch this space - funny old game ain't it!

Just so long as the Mackems keep their beady eyes off Sean Dyche - who, once again, is 2nd fav @ 9/2, behind Allardyce @ 6/4. I might just have a small bet on Rodgers taking over at Sunderland at a very tempting 12/1 with Bet 365, whereas he is generally around 6/1 to 8/1 - even as low as 10/3 with Skybet:-)

Then again, Nigel Pearson has experience of a relegation battle and he is also tempting @ 5/1. Big Sam, apparently, has already said he's not interested in the job. A worrying time for Sunderland but, dare i suggest, an even more worrying time for us 'Clarets' fans:-/
