Plastic Bags.

So now we have to pay for carrier bags. Good idea. A better idea would be to make all plastic bags bio degradeable or use recyclable strong paper bags in all shops. Your thoughts?

A few years ago I put stuff in to carrier bags and stored them in the loft. The bags 'dissolved' leaving my stuff covered in something similar to fine ash. So much for taking thousands of years to degrade. :(
It wasn't rodents, insects or any other sort of beastie as nothing else was touched including paper, woolens, cloth and cardboard.
