I'm pretty sure I've got the answers but can't fathom out the wordplay - 6 down: Actor put in frock that's lifted without notice? (2,4) D? N?R? I assume De Nero. 4/11 For trophy unfairly taken, Celtic exploited hole in formation? (5,3,4) C?C?L ?H? ?I?N I can only make Cecil the lion?!!!! I'm sure Cecil was a very nice lion
Any help appreciated!
6d is DeNiro (with an I). I think 'ord' is put in a (priestly) frock, or ordained. That's is 'ie' and it is without (ie outside) 'n' for notice. The whole thing is then lifted, ie reads upwards.
4/11 is definitely 'Cecil the lion' - anagram of Celtic hole in.
Can you help with 5d? It looks like an anagram of 'on wife beating it'. But I can't get anything to fit. Something like 'acerbity of idiot' fits the letters but it is also gibberish. Hmm
