i want to buy a second hand car from a trader he  has the old v5 document and says this is ok, although the dvla website says these are now invalid  and that all cars from the 1/7/05 must...

i am buying a car that does not have a new v5c document the trader says that the old v5 is still ok, but the dvla web site says that these are now invalid what should i do
