roundup for killing weeds ? useless !! save your money

i was advised to buy roundup for killing large weeds in my garden, it was expensive but i went ahead and bought it , i have applied it twice to the weeds in 2 weeks , it doesnt even kill a dandelion...

Is this legal? Is this not kind of like listening to music or watching videos without paying? Because surely if someone has uploaded a book than the Author will lose out as you don't need to purchase...
