Blue Ray Mulitregion?

Are Blue Ray discs region free like hd dvd? Also does the non HD playback have mulitregion for old dvds? Or does any porduct on the market enable "all region" play back on all discs. Thanks.

what is best? hdmi or component?

I ask because the new xbox elite 360 is coming out at the end of the year and has hdmi output, where as the current 360 has component only. I sit worth upgrading for hdmi, or not at all?
