Mouse poison - how to clean up?

I'm just about to move house and when I went to the new property yesterday to clean it before moving in, I found little heaps of blue poison pellets in the corners of some of the walk-in cupboards...

Advice needed!

Is it ok to have a cat (thinking of getting a kitten) in a flat with no garden or balcony? If it is brought up in this environment then will it be happy as it won't know any different?

Can anyone tell me HOW a tabby cat renowned for its coat and the letter M distinctly on its forehead is not a pedigree cat but a cross breed yet they all have this M spooky?? If not WHY?
