ipad not working

I was on my ipad and it just switched itself off! battery was, I think, about 60% so that's not it - I've plugged it in to charge now, just in case! I just can't get it back on, any ideas?...

I think I may have a problem with my PCs RAM. How can I check to see if both memory sticks are fully working? Do I need to run a memtest and if so which is the easiest to use and from where? Thanks
