wireless mouse batteries

Is there any reason why the batteries of my wireless mouse should not be removed when my PC is switched off, please?  When left on all the time the mouse seems to gobble...

Birds nesting in eaves

We have birds nesting in the eaves on our gable end. How do we get rid of it and how do we prevent it happening again. I am constantly removing bird muck from the path and the noise is terrible.
