Anybody remember this cartoon?

It must be about 10-15 years old, I think the main character was a guy who wore a cowboy hat and it was set in space. I remember there was a horse character who could speak and stand on its hind legs....

About Sept. and Oct. of the year

Sept- means 'seven' and Oct- means 'eight.' Why then September is 9th month of the year and October is 10th month? Do you know why?
