do retail industry do crb check?

i got a job at a sports shop and they said they could be doing a crb check? does any one know if they will do this check because most of my friends say that shops dont do checks just say there going...

reprimands?

do reprimands get wiped from records? will they show up on a cbr check? my friend was shop lifting when we where 17 and i was with her so i also got arrested! ive got a job but there doing cbr checks...
