avi videos

everytime i try to play an avi file on windows media player (9) it is just a green screan, yet my dad on his computer can watch the avi files fine... can someone help? Also can someone reccomend...

how do I get it home?

I have just bought a car that doesn't have any tax on it. It has the V5 document so I will be able to tax it, and an MOT for 6months, but what about getting it home?
