Happy New Year Everyone!

I hope we're all feeling refreshed and ready to face the great sparkling potential of 2014.

I've not made any resolutions this year - not yet anyway.

I wondered if you'd like to make some for me, and the site in the general.

What direction would you like the site to go in over the next year?

What do you think we could do better over the next 12 months?

What's missing from AB?

Any suggestions and ideas welcome, as long as you're not too rude about it :)

Ed, you don't look the same without your rod, that should be your new years resolution - to get it back!!

///and who would monitor it ///

There is a least one heavy handed oversensitive Mod on the site ff, maybe he/she could do it?
^^^ :-)
@sara3......See what you can make of things. Personally, I can't.

Do tell baldric...I'm a complete novice at guessing on here!
What in the name of god is wrong with a chatty thread on Chatterbank? Who is forcing you to read them?
Not all of us are on facebook and emails don't give everyone the opportunity to join in and make it diverse....which is what you are all able to do if you are so inclined.
Many of us live alone and enjoy the bit of light banter on here....especially during the long winter evenings. Ignore it if you can't cope. The site seems to be designed for all.....There are numerous topics where chat is not acceptable.

And comments about cliques say more about the person making the comment than the supposed members of the imaginary cliques.

Start an interesting thread that we can all join in.
Btw I really would like to go into latest posts and click on it to take me to the LATEST POST not start at page one and then have to click on last page. Bet I'm in the minority here.
No you are not in the minority, dunnital, that has been requested often
I agree with you on the idea of going to latest comments
We're sounding like a clique now, Pysbbo and dunitall
no idea Alex! I see the last post they answered on was deleted, so perhaps something broke out there?
I think all the pink jelly babies should make new years resolutions to get an avatar! xx Especially Wharton, sqad etc.........
Aw thanks ff and psybbo, wish they(?) would implement it, surely would help when following a thread.
Cupid I will try, that's my aim for 2014, or one of them.
gness.. breathe!

my point was that those not "in" are ignored, and may therefore feel excluded (me, for example).

I'm pretty sure that I've been accused (in the dim and distant past) of being in a clique, but no one was made to feel ignored on threads I was involved with.

disclaimer; please note that I didn't use the word clique in any other context, except referring to myself!
dunitall- i can see it's very useful for those who like to keep track of a very popular thread with several pages of replies but I can see that for those who look in less frequently and may be seeing the thread for the first time it makes more sense to see all the replies in order so they can see how the conversation has developed
Ed, you don't look the same without your rod, that should be your new years resolution - to get it back!!
FF . . Arghhhh lol
But saying that posters who like to chat should stick to facebook or emails is trying to exclude people from AnswerBank.

Like I said....no facebook and my emails come in when they feel like it..there would be no continuity...so for me a chat on here passes the time and can be fun....

If someone is excluding you speak up...I can't think of many people who ignore others....on CB anyway.
lol.. I'm not going to post and then shout YOU'RE IGNORING ME!

I've just given up on certain types of post. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only who feels like that.

I would recommend Facebook for that purpose though. it's always nice to chat to your mates :o)

"Ed, Your choices are your choices. I’m simply giving my reason for objecting to mamyalynne’s suggestion that Mods be given the ability to edit other people’s posts. I’ll leave it at that."

If you think there's a problem, you need to let me know.

If you don't think there's a problem, why pretend there is one?

I have not received an email from ANYONE about the issue of inappropriate mod behaviour. I welcome any.
