Happy New Year Everyone!
I hope we're all feeling refreshed and ready to face the great sparkling potential of 2014.
I've not made any resolutions this year - not yet anyway.
I wondered if you'd like to make some for me, and the site in the general.
What direction would you like the site to go in over the next year?
What do you think we could do better over the next 12 months?
What's missing from AB?
Any suggestions and ideas welcome, as long as you're not too rude about it :)

We have editors on in the evening and on weekends. They're not expected to interact in the way I do though.
Methyl: You're right about the search. We're looking at new search tech currently. I wouldn't like to simply go for date order.
Anne, feel free to send across any suspicions. All mod actions are timestamped, so I can find out whodunit, if wot woz dun, woz indeed a bad doing. You just need to know the rough time. Just keep it in mind if you think you see something dodgy.

Like you Naomi, I like at least a bit of evidence behind any accusations - so provide some. You can pretend to be oh-so-wounded, but I (and everyone else here) knows you're tougher than that!

Maybe 20ish member mods, plus us Editors. They get paid only in the random, blind abuse of others, yes, there's always vacancies.

I know. A tricky one. I don't want to be in a situation where "everyone must have prizes" though.

Have you spoken to William about this, maybe you could work it out with words before coming to some agreement.

I'd like to have other ways to interact on the site which lets people know "I've seen it, but didn't have anything to say" - I think this low-level interaction is really good for making people feel loved.
Trt: "## I really would like to go into latest posts and click on it to take me to the LATEST POST not start at page one and then have to click on last page. Bet I'm in the minority here. ##

Not everyone want the first part. HOWEVER - the second idea is really good. I'm not sure how we could do it though - sounds like a headache for the programmer doesn't it?

Yes, because they don't do that. They wouldn't be a mod for very long if they did.

Trigger, I'd like that too. We sort of get that kind of structure in News and Soc&Cult - I don't know if I have the stamina to keep generating points of interest (nor do I think do people want MORE of my presence on the site than is needed).
We did talk about having a "member class" like mods who could sticky threads, but not remove content or ban users. That might help.

How can one report them when we do not know who they are?
If you don't know who they are, how do you know you want to report them?
I suppose if you see something like a removed post that you thought should have stayed, you can simply email the Ed saying "Persons unknown removed a post on X thread when they shouldn't have." You run the risk that the person unknown was an Ed rather than a Mod, but you'll have made the point.

I understand the issue - but because we have a record of all moderation actions you can just give us the "When" and we'll sort out the "Who".
