A-H "I think it's reasonable that an element of human nature is involved in moderation - what one Mod may delete, another may allow - that's simply the nature of moderation. " I agree entirely, but please remember that this is a two-way mechanism and that the perpetrator may not have answered in a way that can be described as rude.....e,g the OP of this thread....

What...?
Where...?

Sorry but what was it you mentioned?
I saw the answer and am not surprised it was removed - telling a user to "just use google" (or words to that effect) is (I believe) rather rude, against the whole ethos of AB, and contravenes Site Rules.
Given that I don't know what the question was or how complex the answer might have needed to be, considering advice to 'google' rude is taking the definition of 'rudeness' to a whole different level. Eggshells abound!
"rather rude, against the whole ethos of AB, and contravenes Site Rules."
"Rather rude?"...........I thought that was the underlying ethos of AB.
If all the rude replies like "Google it" were removed, there would be an absence of posts, particularly in CB and News.

It had to be more serious than that.........surely?

It was not my intention to be rude. Many of the other answers simply searched for the answer and posted them.I was just trying to cut out the middle man!I'm very sorry if Ihave upset anyone.I'll stand in the corner for 10 minutes.
Perhaps it was seen as treading on our very own Prince Of Google's toes. :-)
Naomi - As you say, you don't know what the question or answer were, so how do you know if 'eggshells' are involved?

sunny-dave, who did see the answer, advises that it was removed correctly, because it contravened Site Rules.

So why do you not accept that the answer was removed for contravention of Site Rules, rather than imagining some over-sensitivity for which you have no evidence whatsoever?
Mexican....MEXICAN...never , never apologise.....it is a waste of energy.
This is a website dedicated to the storing (banking) of Answers to questions, hence the name.

Telling people to Google for the answer to their question would remove the need for Answer Bank at all....
Had I used google for my very first question I'd never have found AnswerBank.......wouldn't have got the fantastic answers and help I received here.....and you'd all have been denied my company..... ;-)

"sunny-dave, who did see the answer, advises that it was removed correctly, because it contravened Site Rules. "

Thjat was Dave's opinion and only relevant to Site Rules if Dave is a Mod. In which case.......fine.
Having tracked it down and seen that it was the first response to a query I can understand why it went, but obviously you meant no harm.

Just a heads up to another rule

• Any posts asking or discussing why a post or thread was removed or why a member was banned or suspended, will be removed.
I'd leap to your defence Naomi but I'm sure you've got this one covered. :-)

The question was about Elvis on Quizzes.A general knowledge question. It seems logical to Google!
LOL ^^
Oi! A little less conversation! :-)
It might be logical but the person seeking the answer chose to ask here and it is polite to either provide a hint or a correct answer.....or to leave well alone.

All shook up.!
Don't worry about it Mexican18. Depending upon who has their finger on the zapping button, these Site Rules are becoming more elastic with each passing day. Potty!!
