Whilst I was in the US, I could use AB without any trouble at all. But now that I am back in the UK, I have to keep logging in for every thread I visit!!!!!

I'd guess that it relates to the fact that in the US it's taken for granted that you like to be spied on and have your data passed to whomever will buy. Here in the EU you theoretically can refuse, but that means you keep getting asked and having refused don't get access to the site; so in practice it's just an annoyance.

I find it's the other way around. I use the Opera browser in the US and elsewhere as it is more user friendly

On kindle, the blue privacy settings button will just not go, disappear no matter how many time I accept. What is going on????

Other sites seem to ask once then no further pop-overs nor buttons. Unsure why the rules have been interpreted such that a 'settings' button must always be on the screen here.
