Why is it considered acceptable to accept the use of acronyms such as 5C (fifth columnist), TROB (the right on brigade), TROP (the religion of peace), and so on?
Such usages are obviously aimed at avoiding censure as provocative phrases. They are also cowardly, as their users try to hide their meanings from newcomers, whilst emitting dog- whistles to those in the know.
If some of these terms were spelled out honestly, I suspect they might be frowned on by Mods.
I've never reported a post and have never expressed a wish to have anyone banned. I do find unsupported rudeness upsetting and wish it didn't happen. But that's life.
I have formed opinions of people's characters from their posts, but such opinions are not based on proper knowledge of their true characters. I always try not to be insulting (I'm asking for it, aren't I?)
If you love the rough and tumble and a good scrap, then carry on as you wish. It'll probably shorten your life, but we've all gotta go one day.
BTW (LOL! PMSL!) Whenever I see a post removed I always wonder whose it was. I'm sure it's against the rules, but a score table of removed posters would be interesting.
AFAIAA I have only ever had one post removed and I have no idea why - I did wonder if it was because I referred to someone whose posts I now ignore by a shortened version of their user name - would a mod actually remove a post for that if if was reported?
unlikely, I would have thought, lankeela, unless the abbreviating was in some way derogatory.
I used to refer to Quizmonster, out of sheer laziness, as QM; he responded by calling me J, and you can't get much more abbreviated than that. I didn't mind.

I can only assume as he is a very regular questioner on AB his posts are tolerated. //
TTT is not 'tolerated', because no-one is 'tolerated' - everyone is treated the same.
TTT is a frequent Questioner, I am a Moderator, and the Site Rules apply to both of us in exactly the same way - although hopefully the usual suspects will not pop up to deny that.
TTT has been subject to the standard actions by Moderators for breaking Site Rules, as have I.
AH, the rules may apply to everyone in the same way but they are not applied to everyone in the same way. TTT is suspended at the drop of a hat for far less than others regularly get away with so please have the courtesy to stop treating the membership as fools with your constant lessons on ‘the rules’. They can all read.
