Why is it considered acceptable to accept the use of acronyms such as 5C (fifth columnist), TROB (the right on brigade), TROP (the religion of peace), and so on?
Such usages are obviously aimed at avoiding censure as provocative phrases. They are also cowardly, as their users try to hide their meanings from newcomers, whilst emitting dog- whistles to those in the know.
If some of these terms were spelled out honestly, I suspect they might be frowned on by Mods.

Acronyms aren't against Site Rules. I would rather they weren't used in original posts but we can't exactly ban acronyms. The more they're used the more understood they will be, as is language. If we had a problem with particular acronyms then we would add them to the swear filter. For example F-F-S is edited by the swear filter to read "For Funks Sake".
What is your opinion on referring to to those who are on benefits (especially those who are unemployed)as WSS, meaning "work-shy scum"?
Chambers Dictionary defines that use of "scum" as, "derog a worthless or contemptible person or such people."

Perhaps it folk used the convention of writing what they wish to abbreviate in full the first time it occurs in a piece of text with the abbreviation following it
For example. Crazy revolting Answer bankers. (CRAb). That woold solve the problem and maybe make people pause a second to consider whether they really want to be associated with the words it represents
